Not entirely sure. I'm just trying to make it kinda manageable and cute while it grows longer. My hair is currently just a chin length wild mess. I could eat my bangs if I brushed them straight.

I'm going to a LGBTQ-friendly salon, so I'm just gonna tell them my situation. I'll try to show up with some ideas.

I want to streak my hair with purple once it grows long.

It always helps to come in with some ideas of what you want, but I'm sure they'll also be able to help figure out what you can do with your current length. Hope you have fun with it.

just one hair is getting cut? I usually get them all cut at once, much cheaper since stylists usually offer bulk pricing.

I'll take pics, but I think I'll be holding off on posting my face publicly until I'm much further along in my transition. It's a self-image thing. Maybe I'll show a hair only pic.

Worst Case scenario you could always go down the route of a Dutch Mohawk (and yes I had to look up the name for that). Keeps the hair out of your eyes while it grows out, and is fairly gender neutral, as god knows I would rock it as a man if I had the patience to grow mine out.

Totally understandable, and no pressure on anything that makes you uncomfortable.

I'm not wimping out, but I'm mentally treating this like I'm attending my own funeral. Ugh.

Well my hair is still kinda short, so no one's noticed it as especially feminine at home. Just got it balanced out so it grows uniformly and changed my bangs. Didn't want to take much off since I'm just reaching the bottom of my neck now. I think I'm just gonna own it as far as my hair being curly. Interested to see how it will look much longer.

The hairdresser I had was super helpful at finding a look that fits my hair and planning for its future growth. I think I'll request her again next time.
