they are all 10s imo. dark 2's gameplay is really rough but the atmosphere and writing are really on point

I disagree but I do think DS3 is my least favourite.

I'm trying to like Elden Ring, but my god does it do some stupid things. For me right now:

BB>LOP>DS1>ER. I haven't played many FS games, and while Lies of P isn't a Fromsoft title, it just feels better than Elden Ring, even if it is far shorter.

ER > Nioh 2 > DS2 > DS3 = Wo Long > BB > Nioh 1 > Sekiro > DS1 >>> Lords of the Fallen (OG) > DeS.

Besides Izalith, I dont think anything in DS1 is too janky, but its definitely the low point of the series (unless you count the novelty DLC co-op areas from DS2).

Yeah this ordering seems most common with a few variations. Think it really depends on your first one. I played Demon's Souls first and loved it. Going from that to Dark Souls 1 and then 2, it felt so clunky and not as nice. Bloodborne brought the speed and visceral action and then DS3 went "let's ramp it up a bit!" and feels like the best one to play imo.

BB is just stellar. They really need to work on a sequel. I only just recently learned it was Sony's Japan Studio that made it with assistance from From Software (Miyazaki said so in an interview recently). I thought that was all FS, and now I'm sad that the Japan Studio is shut down.

DeS Ps5 > DaS > DeS > DaS3 > DaS2 > BB > ER

Im a simple man with simple tastes. All I know is that Dark Souls 2 is the best game in the Souls series. Its certainly the longest, and more Souls is better than less Souls.

The wild thing is there was an opportunity to fix Izalith with the remaster, and it just didn't happen. From the paint brushed field of Taurus Demons, to the 3rd iteration of the asylum demon, to the travesty that is the orange charred ring that still doesnt prevent all HP loss or damage to equipment, all topped off with Bed of Chaos on top of the shit sundae.

I wasn't impressed with Tomb of the Giants either. The stretch from pinwheel to nito is incredibly short, just frustratingly drawn out by the darkness and giant skeleton enemies on narrow bridges over bottomless pits.

The run back to Seath is complete ass, especially if you get cursed and have to go get a purging stone.

It's just a chore to play anything after Anor Londo besides the DLC. The DLC is goated though

in all my red slab runs i realized something and it's the one part you don't have a complaint about, here: the atmosphere in lost izalith is really cool actually. the enemy placement (and lack of enemy diversity) hurts it so, so much.

The love for DS3 in this topic pleases me. It really feels like a "best of" of all the games prior to it. Yeah the world design is linear, but the areas themselves are large and multidimensional. Loved it so much.

Sister Friede is horrible though, damn she kicks my ass at all times.

I definitely think DS3 has most consistently high-quality boss fights in the series. Curse-Rotted Greatwood and Ancient Wyvern get a lot of crap but I think they're fine. The only one I really dislike is Yhorm the Giant.

Honestly, Souls games are pretty bad overall and even Dark Souls 1 is just ok

Agreed. Dark Souls 3 is legit my favorite game of all time. It's as close to perfect as a game can get imo
