I was at the park with my family today. There was this group of gym bros there and one of them had a dog that he was letting run around unleashed. That alone was annoying since this isn't a dog park and dogs must be leashed here. There is a park that has a dog park that's like five minutes away from where we were.

Anyway, after eating lunch, my kids were running around the playground and my five year old girl was trying to catch up to them and the dog ran up to her and knocked her down and was all over her. The guy got over and got the dog off. I think it was just trying to play with her, but she's already timid around dogs as it is and this one was bigger than her.
I was pretty pissed and told him to leash his dog which he replied that he'd been there two hours and this was just five seconds. I said it the rule and that it's okay and he said he wasn't going to do that, which is about what I expected.
What's up with entitled assholes that think the rules don't apply to them?

I agree that dogs should be leashed when out, even if they're sweet that doesn't mean that they won't get startled, run around and risk getting hit by a car, or risk getting attacked by an aggressive dog.

imo the biggest point is this was not in fact the dog park. It was a kids playground.

This is like if someone decided to smoke under to a smoke detector instead of step outside.

He did leave after our exchange for about 15 minutes and came back without the dog, so hopefully he got the point. Two of the guys (one of them being the guy) were wearing Los Angeles fire dept shirts, despite being in the middle of Missouri, which I thought was odd.
