Too old. She is in her 30's which in Japanese media is like someone in their 60's.
One of the nice things in the Octopath games is that 30 year olds are called young.

Generally, yes. Japanese games are superior in basically every aspect, not just the characters.
Not in roleplaying mechanics.

JRPG is like the biggest misnomer of all time, as I wouldnt consider most of them RPGs at all. You dont get to make any meaningful choices, and theres usually only one way to do most quests etc. Obviously there are exceptions to this like Triangle Strategy, but I dont know of a JRPzg that really emphasize roleplaying. Theyre more like Interactive Adventure Stories with progression mechanics.

granted, as an adult with choice paralysis I find the lack of choice in them refreshing, but theyre not RPGs.

JRPG encompass a massive amount of games, you can't possibly have played enough variety of them if you think there aren't JRPGs with meaningful choices. It's like people who think all anime is the same.

I never called his generalization stupid or called mine not stupid.

Besides it's clearly true that Japanese games are superior. I'm not saying Western games can't be good too or that there aren't trash Japanese games but most Western games can't come close to the quality of most Japanese games. We all see the messes and scandals that keep happening with Western developers.

If we're talking about katanas, I do like them but while I have a lot of experience with games, I don't have a lot of experience with smithing techniques so I can't confirm if katanas are superior to other weapons based on the method of crafting.

It depends on which characters and which games we're talking about. There are a plethora of different art styles found in various Japanese-developed video games, including generic anime, badass/edgy, photorealistic, cartoony(ish), cuteish-looking, and so on.

No, not really.

While Japan does have a lot of great designs, they can sometimes be very same-y. Not saying western games aren't guilty of this, but it's noticeable

I'll say this though, if you want better female body shape diversity, western games are right there. A gripe people often have with non-human female characters who aren't just your generic nameless enemy or NPC is that they always tend to have a very dangerously human shape. You'll often be hard-pressed to find a monster girl that isn't just animal tails and ears plastered on the character and when they do try to attempt something slightly more non-human like a furry, it still sorta ends up looking very human and having a very short snout or nose. Unicorn Overlord is doing it the right way as a recent, but uncommon example.

As much as I like FFXIV over WoW, the latter does have the former beat on this area, not to mention WoW was far quicker to include non-human monster girls/furries as playable characters in their game with multiple race options. We're only now just getting female Hrothgar and they're still human-looking in body shape and stature compared to the male counterparts, who are hunched over and beefier-looking.

In general, I'd say no. Most of of their characters are the equivalent of Marvel characters, with even simpler designs. Every once in a while they make an interesting character, but most are pretty generic.

Which is better, western food or Asian food?

It's just too broad and subjective. There's the good, the bad, and the ugly in both cases.
