I remember seeing those generals as far back as 2016. I stopped checking around 2021. I just now look at the price and was shocked bitcoin was around $400 back in 2016 it is now about 62,000. Did everyone in thread make life changing money why those generals purged?

I remember a CE user saying they put their life savings into bitcoin which was 150,000 at the time. Bitcoin was $450 then. If they held this entire time or bought a bit more that year they probably have 24-25 million right now just from their bitcoin holdings.

Yeah, the bitcoin talk comes up every time it pumps and then disappears when it inevitably dumps.

The generals were during both phases though. Been a while but those bitcoin crowd were being told it was a scam it would never amount to anything. While posting that bit connect guy meme as an example of how all crypto will end.

Just because you can make money off of it, doesn't mean it's not a scam. Where do you think all the value of bitcoin is coming from? The "stablecoin" printing part of the scam hasn't even been clamped down so there's still some runway, but bitcoin going up isn't a guarantee. It being around for a little more than a decade doesn't demonstrate staying power.

This topic was more about how did those CE users do with their bitcoin/crypto holdings as opposed to an argument over bitcoin.

IIRC Magic Donut made a fortune on crypto a while back. Dunno what happened to him as he abandoned this site for Reddit because he kept getting modded here for his porn topics

I only started buying in 2018 but Ive kept at it weekly. Not a millionaire yet but getting close!

CE informed me about Bitcoin in 2013

And from then that's when I fully decided and was able to come to an understanding that my heavy GameFaqs usage is not a problem, and whether people think I'm a nerd or not for it doesn't matter, because I'm learning useful information that can help me and others. Plus it's fun so who cares what other people think
