Ok it might be hard for you to accept this but there are a lot of fake digimon fans

I remember seeing the first Digimon movie in theaters. They were giving out Digimon cards to the moviegoers and I literally got the card of the strongest Digimon in the movie.

But then I lost it at the mall lol

FACTS!

I got Covid in January and started rewatching Digimon Adventure 01. Got through it fairly quickly and decided fuck it, going to watch Adventure 02.

That season is a lot better than I remember it being but the last 10-15 episodes aren't nearly as good as the beginning of the season. Arukenimon and Mummymon started of as good characters but they turned into those type of villains where it's the same exact scenario every time they were on screen. BlackWargreymon also started off cool but his storyline dragged on too much after he met Agumon. He turned into a character who was just running around looking to destroy some destiny stones. It felt like I was watching the same episode over and over. I also don't like how everyone starts off as bad, but hold on turns out they were being controlled the entire time and they're secretly good. It was fine with Ken but it should have stopped there. I will say though that Myotismon being the final villain of the season was fucking perfect as I love that VAs voice.

Not sure if I should bother rewatching Tri or not. I watched when it originally aired, up until the main Digimon's memories reset but thought it got stupid how they hyped it up and then got their memories back the next episode so I stopped watching out of boredom.

Now I'm watching Tamers and it's a breath of fresh air. There's way less puns and one liners than the first two seasons. I don't mind them but it makes it easier to get through an entire season when it's a bit more serious. Going to watch Frontier next and then call it a day. Unless someone can recommend another season.

I'm also playing Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Forgot how good this game is. I've played it before on my Vita and my PS4 but not for a while. Now I'm playing the complete edition on the Switch. There's a lot of reading involved so It's not for everyone but I like that about it. I'm rotating my characters around but my mains are the Agumon, Gabumon and Impmon lines. Also working on Guilmon, Lopmon, Patamon, Gatomon/Tailmon lines and a few others.

Not sure why this all happened. I was very sick with Covid and woke up one day feeling like I need to watch Digimon.

I haven't watched Digimon in so many years, but I might get back into it. I always felt the first cast looked like Sonic characters lol

Right, I'm pretty sure the card I got at the theater when I saw the first Digimon movie as a kid was Omnimon. I remember that War Greymon and Metal Garurumon fused or something.

I don't like how convoluted the Digimon canon is.

I love the series but it feels like something new each time and its not all connected which is something I sorta like with the Pokemon t.v. series. The games are different but all connect to one another in some way.

I dunno, its hard to explain but after Digimon tamers, I sorta stopped paying attention.(I did watch season 4 though and liked it)

I miss the old days like with the Digimon World games...World 1 and 2 are really fun(even if people hated 2 and the gameplay)

Pokemon TV series is textbook examples of how not to do long running series. Season 1 Ash is kinda good but progressively getting stale to try to please younger audience.

Personally watching the most recent series, Ash was way better now than he's ever been. He felt like a cookie cutter main protagonist with very little but they added a lot of character to him in the newer stuff.

Plus, its not necessarily about the enjoyment of the series as much as its about there being a cohesiveness to it. The Digievolutions all feel...weird. Like misplaced. "Oh, this can digivolve into this or this or this" practically making it feel like there's no uniqueness to it.
