also mitch keller and the pirates agreed on a 5 year extension. he is probably doomed to be a #3 now instead of getting the cole/glasnow/musgrove boost from being traded to someone competent.

I'm thrilled the Orioles traded for Corbin Burnes.

I'm not too thrilled that Kyle Bradish is out with a "UCL strain." I guess he got an injection and is rehabbing it, but c'mon - everyone knows he's gonna be out until mid 2025 with Tommy John.

How does fantasy baseball work? Ive played fantasy football (Im not good at it btw), but baseball is my favorite sport to watch by far.

Baseball is my absolute favorite. I cannot wait for Opening Day!

My oldest son and I had a tradition from the time he was in 4th grade until he left for college this past year where we would skip/work school, order in lunch, and watch opening day baseball. This will be my first baseball season start without him in years, and I am already bummed. But baseball is still going to be great.

And I am still going to skip work that day.

Also, very interested in possibly going to Camden Yards again this year. Orioles are a great team now, and it's been a while since I've been down there. Great ballpark.

He might! As long as he gets his work done and keeps his scholarship he can do what he likes. I am not the boss of him anymore!

I think going to class in college is the best way to learn the material , but I skipped a few classes to go to baseball games and things turned out fine.

I went to college in DC when the Orioles were in the playoffs. My criminal justice professor, a huge baseball fan, said anyone going to the game was excused from class for that day. We just needed to produce a ticket stub. I went to the game and provided the evidence-she was much more proud of that than any paper I ever wrote. She wrote my most glowing recommendation for law school-to this day I am certain she put extra into it because we both like baseball.

As I wrote in my last post, I lived in DC for twelve years and watched many many games at Camden. I am not an Orioles fan (my family hails from Ga, so I am a huge Braves fan just like my Dad and his Dad), but Camden Yards is still my absolute favorite place to watch a game. What a ballpark-not a bad seat in the house. Have a great time!

i feel like the o's could face some regression. they had a very good record in 1 run games. bradish is also prob out for the year, plus no felix. burnes and kimbrel to replace them which should be fine i guess. but burnes grayson kremer wells means... idk if this is a championship rotation.

wouldn't be surprised if they fall to 3rd in the division behind the rays and yankees. think they'll be around 85-90 wins.

I completely agree with your analysis and the likely outcome, but I hope we end up being wrong. Baltimore is a great baseball town, and their fans had a lot of lean years. It would be cool if they had a nice window of competitiveness for the division.

I just bought this as a treat for myself the other day after my son raved about it. Havent started yet, but I am excited to. I need a baseball fix.

When I was young, much of my gaming was playing long seasons of baseball football and basketball in different gaming franchises. Now I mostly play single player story driven games and confine sports to playing and watching my teams on tv. But I have been itching for baseball, and Mega seems like a fun but not too serious way to get back into sports games.

I have GamePass, but if I enjoy it I dont want it to be at the whim of my subscription. So I just bought it on sale at the PS Store. I would love to hear your impressions as you go if you have time and are inclined!

i got 3 a long time ago but didn't get into it because i had the show. now i only play steam games so i needed a baseball fix and started playing 3. really got into it. poured like 150+ hours into it. it's actually incredibly easy, every season with my franchise i'm always basically competing to have perfect no-loss seasons, but it's still a fun time dominating. certainly doesn't fill the 'realistic' itch though.

yeah i like the o's. good unis and logo. i think their window is going to be open indefinitely tho. mike elias is a great guy to lead the team. and the o's are already the best org at developing hitting with gunnar, adley, holliday, kjerstad, mayo, cowser, ortiz (now traded), norby, etc. just need to catch up on pitching altho bradish, grayson, cano, felix are good signs that their pitching dev is coming along. also the new ownership will presumably open their pocketbook a bit more than angelos which will stop the o's from becoming the rays 2.0

kyle gibson and lance lynn are going to be chad innings eaters. lynn is very HR prone but st louis park is pretty anti home run. plus sonny gray is great. that is significantly better than giving 180 innings to wainwright or dakota hudson.
