for the 3DS changes there are some i like but some i don't like, that said i still enjoy the port and am grateful it exists

for me i didn't think the n64 version was a hard game because i was able to beat it in elementary school without using the internet for guidance. i got stuck plenty of times yes but i was able to get through it. for comparison i was never able to beat Super Mario Bros 2 Japanese version on the SNES All Stars collection until i was an adult

out of the valid complaints like changing the Zora Swimming (which still isn't too bad since Chateau Romani basically enables the original swimming anyways) i've randomly seen complaints that the 3DS dumbed the difficulty down but i've always been like......"what difficulty?"

thoughts?

It wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy, either. Final Boss was tough stuff if you didn't know how to do it.

For the most part it was ezpz. Though I fucked up Snowhead Temple a lot playing it on the Switch because aiming the Goron rolling feels really finnicky without the notches from the N64 controller. Or maybe there was some trick to doing it that I just forgot. >_>

I remember a lot of moaning about Great Bay Temple but I 1CC'd that with zero memory of its layout so I idk what the problem was.

I stopped watching Game Grumps when Erin quit this game because he couldn't beat the desert temple miniboss

It's not a hard game. It's made for children. The only thing that might be challenging is 100%ing the side missions.
