That looked almost like some kind of giant water elemental rather than a big scary wave. I wish people who do remakes like this would respect the original source material for once, they're just going to ruin the legacy of a perfectly good movie.

The trailers look great, but the more and more articles that get written about the show the more and more I get disapointed with.

I hope it's good. I know the information that's released recently has soured people on the show but I'm still hoping it's a good adaptation.

Listening to the early reviewers, it sounds like most were pleased with the first episode, with just minor complaints. Many seemed to praise Sokkas actor for his comedic timing, so if that holds it should go a long way to helping people forget any other slight character modifications.

Based on the trailers so far, this remake is trying pretty hard to do things accurately and maintain the original spirit of the show.

It obviously won't be as good as the original, but for a fresh interpretation of the story it seems to be on the right track.

Idk why, but whenever little kids are heroes or badass fighters in cartoons or anime I never think twice about it. Something about live action though I have a hard time suspending disbelief, even in pure fiction like this.

Looks pretty good though

I'm not expecting it to be as good as the original, I just want it to be good on its own. There will always be people who won't watch a cartoon but will watch a live action TV show.

One thing that came out of the live action One Piece was people becoming fans of the series by watching the LA show, and then diving into the manga and anime, or just sticking with the LA version. At best that can happen here. At worst we have another Last Airbender situation that appeals to no one.

Basically all of those articles are taking something one actor or writer said offhand in a giant interview and then blowing it out of proportion which is then escalated by people determined to hate this show no matter what. All of the trailers themselves have looked good and the reception from people who watched the first episode at a premiere was mostly positive.

This trailer in particular looks great. I got weirdly choked up watching it, don't know why lol

Yeah I didn't mean to be a negative nancy. In the movie watching community I'm in, there have been some people lucky enough to see the first couple episodes and have nothing but good stuff to say about it, even though most of them admit they don't really know a whole lot from the series (so probably casual watchers). I'm still going to give it a shot with at least knowing it can't be worst than The Last Airbender.

It's bc it looks stupid af. These kind of shows absolutely should age up the cast to be mid-late teens. Baby-faced Aang does not work in live action.

When is this out, in a couple hours?

After One Piece was actually great, I'm cautiously optimistic about this project.
