The whole customers vs employees thing is just dumb to me. Especially when people complain how dumb customers are. Sure, there are dumb people out there, but we all have derp moments, where we miss something that's right in front of us or w/e. I've had plenty of employees be rude to me for no apparent reason. I've worked with customers. No matter how nice you are to them, some will use the "customer is always right" crap to you, even when you explain the polices and the rules. In one ear and out the other.

Morale of the story, no matter how big a sign is or easy to read, a customer will disregard it.

Devil's advocate, that shit is so heavily regulated and dispensaries are monitored and audited like a hawk. Could be that's part of their operating agreement within the confines of the law?

I'd also add that even if not, with medicine they probably don't want to take back and resell something that's been in someone's home/possession for day or even weeks and resell it causing a customer to complain

TC you made a kind of wild assumption that the cashier was trying to dismiss you when asking a confirmation question "so your dad bought it?"

They can't read your mind and who can say how coherent you were walking into the dispensary. You can't be coming to wild conclusions like that and then get angry about it. That's kind of your fault. They also shouldn't have called you names, but just based on what you're saying it's hard for me to be convinced that you had a genuinely bad customer service experience.
