There's nothing necessarily wrong with finding an updated version of a character slightly less attractive than the original.

There is, however, something very wrong with being so sex obsessed that what appears to be little more than a quirk of animation/design actively bothers you.

And there's something hideously and hilariously wrong with imagining that there's some antisex conspiracy trying to inhibit your ability to have a wank over a children's cartoon.

X men may be more tolerable for adults than Dora the Explorer, but it's still trying to appeal to a fairly young audience. If you want porn, it's not exactly difficult to find.

That is why the team finding Jean in between the Phoenix Saga and Dark Phoenix Saga wasn't shown, the episode "No Mutant is An Island" wasn't ready.

But no, Season 1 did establish that the team weren't familiar with Warren. Even a flashback in Cold Comfort made sure not to include him, plus Beyond Good & Evil stated he was prophesied to join (not rejoin) the X-Men.
