I'm the only guy and I work with 5 women. If I'm in the wrong, they act pissy until I apologize, totally fair. If they're in the wrong though, they still act pissy. It's so stupid. I sometimes try to open up the conversation like, anything you wanna say? What's on your mind? And it's just "nothing", but clearly not nothing.

Also sometimes they just openly talk shit about men. I don't care if they do it on their own without me, but it doesn't feel good when they do it around me.

Lol, I dont take it seriously or personally if women say stuff like I hate all men! around me. Most of the time they dont even mean it. Some guys will try to argue (well, what did I do to you?!) which Ive always thought was dumb. Just let them vent as long as theyre not actually treating you badly or unfairly.

That's where it gets confusing because sometimes it's like all cold shoulder, and most of it I just think 'whatever I'm here to do my job anyway', but the fact that I even have to use any brain power to ignore the shit sometimes is annoying.

I work with mostly women (the only other guys are on different shifts) and never have any problems. I've worked with men who act the exact same way you're describing and it was hell.

TC made the noob mistake of criticizing women on the internet

My boyfriend works as a Nurse (very pink-collar career) and the way he needs to talk to many of his coworkers is very passive and meek.

In my manufacturing/engineering jobs where it's like 90% dudes, I can go "hey, dude. you made a mistake. Here's what it was. Please be mindful going forward" and they'll go "yup. okay" and we'll keep humming along.

If he said that, they would go "yup, okay" and then proceed to actively make that same mistake for several months while also ignoring him/giving him the silent treatment until he apologizes for his harsh language. With his coworkers it needs to be something like "hey, is there something that you think we could've done better?" -- a passive question followed by shared ownership, when the asker already knows the answer AND that it's all that bitch Carol's fault. But can we call out Carol? Nooooo.
