No. I cannot stand service people who constantly try to talk. I'm here to get my haircut, not have a chat. I won't hold it against them to try, seeing as a lot of people like to chat the entire time, but it gets really annoying if they keep trying even after it's clear I have no interest.

No. A greeting, maybe a comment about weather should suffice.

Some people have a hard time driving if someone's talking to them. They probably shouldn't be driving for a living, but it's their job and they should be allowed to perform it without distraction if talking is a problem for them.

That said, my rideshare struck up a nice conversation about local pizza the other day and we talked the whole ride.

I always try to strike up conversations, but that's only because I don't want to give off the impression that I'm not acknowledging them and only viewing them as some nameless, faceless person doing their job. If I were driving for Uber/Lyft and most people just got in the car, didn't say shit and said "Yeah, thanks" when arriving at the destination, I'd be bummed out.
