BloodMoon7 02/05/24 11:45:47 PM #1:	Had this problem with Omega Labyrinth Life where I went in expecting a relaxing time but it's actually a legit dungeon game and you get wiped without careful prep. Playing Gal Gun 2 and Mary Skelter 2 and I'm just like... Gal Gun 2 ain't that bad, I think I'm just bad at shooters but man some of those defense missions can get real intense. I'm legit scared playing this, like it's a zombie apocalypse or some shit. Mary Skelter 2 though, I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm getting my ass kicked even on Easy. Sitting here looking up resources online to see wtf I'm doing wrong cause man these dungeons are kinda brutal. ssjevot 02/05/24 11:59:35 PM #8:	Based on some interviews with Experience Inc. staff I think the dungeon RPG genre is now largely forced into having etchi content because it's so niche that the artwork is a big selling point. You could argue Etrian Odyssey doesn't fit into this, but that artist does a lot of etchi art and is relatively well know, so even if it isn't remotely on the level of say Dungeon Travelers, it's still an element. For a genre started in the West in the 80s that largely inspired JRPGs as a whole, you're now basically limited to whatever small companies in Japan can manage to crank out (and Etrian Odyssey, which is amazing). That said if you are primarily in it for the girls, you need to check out Witch and Lilies (lily, the flower, is Yuri in Japanese, which is also the genre name for erotic lesbian manga/anime/games). I think the Etrian Odyssey Untold, Persona Q, and Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey games are all great choices for DRPGs with true easy modes to let you get used to the genre. With Omega Labyrinth, it's mostly about prep. You always want an Escape Tome on hand if the dungeon seems to difficult so you don't lose gear. Hoarding Guiding Tomes is another way to deal with things. Generally you shouldn't be getting wiped out quickly unless it's a room full of monsters though. The stat raising mini game can be done quickly, for me the main drawback is that it gets old pretty quick.
