Going from trouncing through the game with my party in the high 30s to getting absolutely trounced by a level 50 Majima out of absolute no where, kinda makes me wanna just watch the ending on YouTube and move on to the next one.

Yeah it was brutal. I dont even think at that point you are allowed to go back and grind if I remember correctly.

yea, the end game really has an annoying difficulty spike.

I had to go back and play through the real estate mini-game so I could get the ultimate move and spam it.

IIRC there's an enemy in the sewers or something that you can farm for XP around that point, although maybe it was before that. Idk because I already knew that spike was coming beforehand so I was already kind of prepared

I grinded out the Soten Tower, especially for the Armor and Weapons, and didn't have that much of a problem. I can't remember if I found 50 Tojo crest by this point and if I used those summons.

Narratively I appreciated the demonstration that the kyoudai were worthy of their legendary status.

I just wish that boss fight didn't occur after a short dungeon and that backtracking wouldn't seem like such lost progress.

this. gotta skip a few fights. only target the vanguard. it's alot of xp if the vanguard goes down. myself i had some tough moments with that fight. paralysis sucks (if it impacts the healer, we're in trouble).

also to note, i wasn't using moves that weren't effective against them.

If you do all of the side content there really isn't a particularly notable spike. I didn't grind and at no point did I ever find there to be anything resembling a "wall" in the difficulty. Heck, in the fight in question I beat it in my first try without really finding it particularly daunting: I mostly only remember it because it involves a character who is important.

Not too long before that boss you're introduced to a dungeon that the game basically highly encourages you to do. You'll be fine on that fight if you do it.

I had no difficulty with the game until I got to the Majima and Saejima fight. I didn't have difficulty after that either not even with the true Millennium Tower

There was more difficulty in 7 from what I seen in the current game so far but also just use Ichiban's auto revival skill in 7 It's cheap and you'll have it for the actual spikes. Anytime he gets even ohko'd he immediately revives then use it again.

There are other ridiculously cheap and inexpensive moves that cost little mp that do way more damage than they should. 7 was strangely balanced.
