I'm not really sure. I would have gotten both in 1995. I probably played Yoshi's Island first.

On the best sick day ever, I stayed home from school and beat Super Mario Bros. 2. Later that night, when I was feeling better, I went to the store and my mom bought me Yoshi's Island.

Since Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World came with my SNES, I would have beaten Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario Bros. 2 within a relatively short time frame. Oddly enough, I didn't beat Super Mario Bros. 1 until a year or two later.

I do remember reading the instruction manual for Super Metroid and thinking, "Samus is a girl...? That's pretty cool." Come to think of it, that was probably the first game with a female lead that I ever played to competion.

I don't think I've ever played Yoshi's Island. I probably played Super Metroid like 10ish years ago.

Super Metroid. I tried Yoshis Island much later and hated the crying baby gimmick.

Never played a single Metroid game.

I played Super Metroid first by a long shot... But never came remotely close to beating it. I rented it and it didn't come with the manual. So Noob Bridge defeated me completely. I didn't finish it until like 2013.

On the other hand I played Yoshi's Island probably a year later than my first attempt at Super Metroid and had a blast beating it over a weekend rental

I'm not sure, but probably Super Metroid, I actually owned it. I only ever rented Yoshi's Island.

Super Metroid when it came out. A game I continue playing to this day.

Played Yoshi's Island at a friend's house thinking it was the first Mario World. Was disappointed.

Super Metroid. I went on an emulation binge like a decade ago. I'm almost certain I played Super Metroid first.

I got Yoshi's Island around launch. I borrowed Super Metroid a little later from my friend.

Super Metroid. Got it for my 10th birthday in summer 94.

My grandma took me to Hills (an awesome regional store that Walmart killed). She bought it for me. We went to Kentucky Fried Chicken after.

It was a great day!

I got Megman X in the mail a few days later from my Uncle. It was a good birthday for games.

I got Yoshi Island I think Christmas eve 95 from my other grandma.

I honestly can't remember. I can't remember if I owned Super Metroid when I was younger, but I did play it a lot so I probably rented it often, but I did own Yoshi's Island. I know I do own a copy of Super Metroid but I sold my original copy of Yoshi's Island.

I own Super Metroid, but I've actually only ever played just a little bit of Yoshi's Island and never owned it. I'm not sure why I've never really played it.
