I need a new laptop for work, business and some gaming. Nothing to serious but would like to be able to play modern games and get something I can use for a long time

As a general rule of thumb, I try to discourage people from buying computers from Wal-Mart. They have no IT department, half the people that sell the product have no clue what it is, or even if its good or not. I don't even think Wal-Mart knows half the computer products they sell. Plus there is dealing with their customer service which is garbage.

One thing that irks me from both of these is that you don't know what Ram is in either of them, or at least I'm having a hard time finding it. It only says 16gb of ram. We don't know if that's DDR4, DDR5 hell DDR3.

When it comes to laptops, I try to encourage buying a laptop that lets you add an additional stick of ram, rather than all the ram being soldered on the board.

Not a fan of Walmart at all either. Apparently its going through Antonline. Either way I would hope these brands could stand up on their own

And from what I've read, Antonlines customer service apparently stinks. Your better off going to a Microcenter if you have one near you, as from what I've heard they know their stuff.

I'm thinking about getting the asus zephyrus G14. It does have ram soldered on, but there's an extra slot available to add more, and I can upgrade the SSD as well.

Not sure about the ones you mentioned TC, but the zephyrus does look like a good option, depending on which one you get.

I agree with you in that we don't know the speeds of the RAM or anything about the modules besides capacity.

We can narrow down the DDR type by what CPU it is, though. According to the AMD spec sheets it only seems to support DDR5L and LPDDR5.
