Honestly since Microsoft has taken at least a helping intrerest in PalWorld, it seems to suggest that Microsoft things this might loosen Nintendos grip on the market.

My own opinion, I think, depending on how well it goes, it might force TPC/Game Freak/Nintendo to actually look at the stale shovel load that is pokemon atm. Who knows maybe we will get something out of it, doubt it, but if PW does well, it just might force something new.

I know Palworld is really the same kind of game as Pokemon, but Pokemon has needed some genuine competition for a long time.
Maybe Gamefreak will reconsider the quality at which they release games.

Considering Nintendo had copied other successful franchises into their games like assassin's Creed I'd expect them to borrow some palworld ideas as well.

Competition is always good... even though I don't think this game will necessarily hurt Pokemon sales that much. Almost similiar premise somewhat, but the genres are just completely different. Pokemon will do just fine, but this should be a wake up call for TPC/Game Freak/Nintendo to not be so complacent with Pokemon.

Game Freak likely won't give a shit. Unlike with Yo-Kai Watch which they did somewhat freak out about during YKW's peak in the mid 2010's, Palworld is not competing directly with Pokemon, and the two games play nothing alike.

Nah. Palworld is in a genre and platforms that Nintendo aren't interested in.

Overall it's riding the success of the Pokemon IP by making a survival crafting game on platforms there is no Pokemon presence.

Maybe Pokemon should fo uno reverse and release Pokemon World, the Palworld without guns.

I'd hope so, but at this point, they know they don't need to do anything for Pokmon games to sell like hotcakes. They're too big a name at this point, especially with kids who don't really care as much about quality. Unless they fuck up worse than anyone else has fucked up in history, it's just a license to print money.

I hope so. Gamefreak has been half assing it for too long. Most profitable IP in gaming and they can't even afford to pay for voice acting? Bullshit

It will have absolutely no effect. Pokmon will barely deign to acknowledge Palworld and will continue to make mediocre games and people will continue to buy them. The only way this will ever change is if they just don't make more games or the heat death of the universe happens.

GameFreak will start to implement models that have awkward clipping by design.

Yeah, pretty much took the words out of my mouth. The extent of which Nintendo cares about Palworld was the statement put out which was corporate speak for, "Holy shit, stop emailing us about this, we do not care."

If anything Game Freak will take the exact wrong message and add a shitty survival crafting mechanic to their new game.

I dont think it'll have any effect on Pokemon at all. Completely different kind of games; they just both included monster catching.

tbh having 100% the paldeck/achievements
i'll say that despite the fact that it is inherently a much different game than pokemon
the only things it has going for it are the aspects that are like pokemon

the survival mechanics suck
the building mechanics suck
gearing is basically a vertical grind
resource management is fucking horrendous, especially at higher tiers

the only gameplay loop driving engagement is catching pals, which, sadly, at endgame is practically pointless outside of an incredibly limited pool of pals, b/c player damage w/ guns completely outscales anything a pal can output (b/c cooldowns are ridiculously long)
