I was against them for the longest time but someone here convinced me to give them a go. Game-changer. Only problem is that you have to be pretty specific when shopping for them because a lot of them have really stupid features, like the pair I bought that auto plays/pauses when you tilt your head a certain way. Couldn't run in those, which is my main purpose for them. Other than that, they're awesome.

Kind of the opposite, I switched to headphones and found them more convenient. Also my earbuds eventually stopped working after walking in the rain.

What type are you using? I have no problems with using ear buds that go into the canal with the largest foam tip (of course that's the size I need).

My first set (Galaxy Buds Pro) used to hurt a lot, so I could only wear them for short periods at first, but continuing to wear them longer and longer eventually made the pain go away.

I absolutely refused to wear earbuds whatsoever.

BUt admittedly i dont use headsets much at all.

Partially because i dont need to. I can use my speakers for my devices without any problems almost always.

And... even headphones have an issue if i use them for long enough, i start getting a nasty aching in my earlobes. Very uncomfortable, but ill take that over earbuds any day

Yes. I walk around with only one earbud in a lot so people can still talk to me and such. But thats for listening to podcasts, audiobooks, and YouTube videos. I need stereo for music.

Ive tried loads. Anything with a foam tip is out within seconds. Ive got a pair of AirPods that are slightly better but still a massive liability.

should i get galaxy buds2
or
sony wf-1000xm5

also wow the current mainstream earbuds are tuned much closer to the in-ear harman target now compared to just a few years ago. here galaxybuds 2 pro and wf-1000xm5 compared to wf-1000xm4

oh my god you can use auto eq to make salnotes zero (a $20 iem) sound similar to either earbud to a certain extent.

Salnotes Zero compared to Galaxy buds pro 2 and Sony wf-1000xm5. not too far off from either earbud in its stock form at a glance.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/8/8ec5d90f.jpg

Salnotes Zero eq'd to Sony Wf-1000xm5 from 20 to 6000 hz.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/1/1644a003.jpg

based on salnotes zero eq comparison i actually prefer the sony wf1000xm5 over the galaxy buds2 pro. ofc the earbuds might sound different in person esp above 6000 hz but im CONFIDENT that i will prefer the sonys over the galaxy buds2 pro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the Galaxy 2 earbuds free with a phone, but I find them uncomfortable to wear, too much of a faff to put in, and a bit gross when they get covered in wax.

Bluetooth cannot carry the amount of data that wired headphones can, so you will get a drop in quality if you are using a lossless source. If you are listening to YouTube music, or 256Kbps Mp3s, it won't make any difference, though.

While true, I dont think any phone has a DAC good enough that you could tell a difference between FLAC and say, 256 bit Opus, with wired headphones. Particularly if the headphones are at all difficult to drive.

I am glad I am not an audiophile. Can use a 20 dollar pair of wireless earbuds and be fine with it. Sure they tend to stop working after a year or two, but I tried 100+ dollar ones and the same happens, so sticking with 20 dollar ones that can be replaced rather cheaply.

When I'm out of the house or even doing chores at home wireless buds are the way to go.

When I'm at my desk this over ear headphones are my choice.

BT earbuds have come a long way in terms of sound quality and build quality - especially with the LC3 codec becoming the new standard (fucking Samsung get on enabling it ffs)

While I have over-the-ear AKG headphones, I also use my Galaxy Buds Live and I enjoy them. They're the most comfortable wireless buds I've used and I intend to keep them until a proper sequel comes out.

For those who use any kind of Galaxy Buds, it's best to pair them with a Galaxy phone or tablet to take advantage of Samsung's proprietary Scalable or Seamless codecs which will offer a much better sound profile.

Never wear over the ear headphones while you're outside in public. In earbuds suck & start to hurt after an hour or two & are worse for your hearing long-term than headphones.

That's where the king comes in. Bone conduction headsets. My aftershokz have been my go to for two years now, fits snugly over/behind my ear & rests near each of my little fleshy ear bits whatever it's called. I can lay down with them, still hear out my ears, & forget they're even there they're so comfortable.

I am not paid by aftershokz, they're just that good & I would recommend everyone get a pair. I have two just so I can swap one out when the other gets low

I get compliments on them pretty frequently because the style is eye catching as well, don't ever have to worry about them falling off or anything ofc. They're a decent investment for a headset

I switched to wireless after my 100th pair of wired crapped out. I mostly use them at night when sleeping, and yeah those things can be anywhere when you wake up. I woke up the other day and did not realize one earbud was stuck to my stomach... until after using the restroom and leaning over to flush. Fishing an earbud out of piss isn't what I'd call a great way to start the day.

Yes. I use wireless earbuds at the gym and at work. It's convenient because they're more portable.

At home, I don't have to worry about portability though, so it's all about headphones.
