What a crazy episode. The post credits scene blew me away. It both implies that there are multiple 'Ricks' that constantly get made from all of one organism losing a loved one. The difference is that Uncle Slow's wife and her Birdperson worked out. Rick's didn't work out.

I need to rewatch this tomorrow. Not really sure what Evil Morty wants with the thing. I was kinda surprised he didn't just go live somewhere peaceful, and that he even came back, but I liked that Rick even called him out for being a fan for fucking off.

Really tied up a lot in this one

Wow, I really thought they were saving Rick prime for the series finale. What I don't get is, why isn't Rick C-137 happy that he finally got his wish?

Yeah, that's crazy, I thought the same, and it wasn't even the season finale. Like, how can they top this with the next episode?

Also, him not being happy is a common theme in this situation because first, vengeance doesn't bring you happiness or even peace like you'd expect it would and second, he'd devoted his whole life to this, it was his purpose for living, so now his life has no purpose. But in the very last couple of seconds it seemed he found it in his family.

Next episode doesn't need to top this one.

This was a great and unexpected episode. I don't understand how Evil Morty can be so intelligent when pairing up Mortys was to blanket the intelligence of Ricks, though.

The after-credits scene was sweet, too. She could have taken the same path as Rick but found comfort in another person who was going through the same situation.

What's your interpretation?

I'm not even sure they thought that far into the show's future during that episode. What creating a field of Mortys establishes is that 1) Rick is somehow dependent on Morty in more ways than one ("intelligent waves" being a metaphor) , 2) Rick is nihilistic in his attachment to Morty (even though he's also not), and 3) Evil Morty wanted moreso to bait a Rick that could even find him in the first place, specifically one that made portal technology.

I got to thinking after watching again, Rick Prime's body was never shown. I'm theorizing Rick didn't kill him, or at least not "fully" killed him and is keeping something back.

Very amazing episode.

cant help thinking Evil Morty is clearly the endgame for the series. And that he is likely related to someone but cant think of who.

Unless its dumb Rick.smartest Morty with the dumbest Rick.

Our Rick didnt have any grandchildren did he? I guess he could have tried to make his own clone grandchild?

But then I remember while the writers like doing the plot episodes, they mostly just want to have fun. I do think Rick Prime is done

His line made it clear, if he has people pissed at him, they will come after him. He doesn't want anyone to chase after him. He's seen what it's like with prime rick already.
"Because using a weapon like this doesn't get you left alone, Morty. Think I want a bunch of vengeful Summers coming after me?"

I guess he's into the ending the violence thing.

Yeah, I got that the 2nd time watching it. The first time I was watching live so I didn't even see him chuck the core into the thing.

dudes throwing a bitchfit cause their dear god Justin Roiland got replaced for being a complete piece of trash. meanwhile, i've been enjoying this season.

with that said, this is definitely the best episode so far! altho it felt like the Rick Prime plot was resolved way too quickly...

Regarding your spoiler text, I think it's because anime fights have spoiled us over the years. Most battles in the Dragon Ball series last several episodes, and I'm sure fights in Naruto, One Piece, My Hero Academia, etc go on for a while as well. Rick Prime was in many episodes overall, and was in like half or more than half of this episode. They could have drawn it out longer, but that just isn't the pacing of the series.

I think the point is that the fight ended quickly too. We're feeling what Rick feels. Years of build up, just for it to suddenly end, and he's all like "well now what?"

That's why the episode felt unexpected. Everything in his life lead to this point but now he's not sure where to go or do. Getting what you want and knowing what to do after.. That sense of meaningless is actually what this out of the blue release captured.

While I don't disagree and the impact was great, I'm standing by that Rick didn't kill him.
