The Economy as a whole has pretty much already recovered.

Are you asking if prices for specific (housing, food) things will go down?

The U.S. has had robust growth and low unemployment for years (other than a mini recession in 2022 which no one talks about)

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/4/4970d983.png

also, we just had a quarter of annualized growth of 4.9%. 4.9% is great.

It's already recovering as best it can.
But I doubt prices will go down. Gas will never go back under $2.00/gallon, for example. Prices have been going up since...ever. $100 in 1900 is worth just $5 today because of inflation.

It's already recovered. We're just suffering due to the increased food and home prices. The US economy isn't the same as your average person's individual experience.

My company (top 2 bank) suspects 2024 to be a recession and have implemented a hiring freeze in preparation for it

Fed is still talking hawkish

I'm expecting next year to be a stagnant year where interest rates even out for a few months and then begin to see them fall in late 2024 or early 2025

I do see things getting bad next year since we cant afford our current interest rates for long which are the only thing holding up the bond market.

At best I see things well until at least post election, then it can all possibly turn into shit.

I dont know if u guys are aware of your surrounding or what other people go through but alot of people are struggling with work, worker shortages, rising costs in everything, food, rent, etc. So I dont mean for u to take it the wrong way but if u are doing well then good for u but not everyone is doing as great.

Worker shortages, also known as low unemployment, are good for workers. They're part of why wage growth has outpaced inflation this year:

I worry that the Fed and corporations are controlled solidly by right-wingers at this point and they'll intentionally set up a recession just to cost Biden the election and bring in Trump for another round of juicy tax breaks.
Biden fucked up so hard in keeping Powell and not pushing for rate hikes sooner so the "recovery" could have begun by 2024.
They're not exactly being coy about it. The banks and investment firms are saying 2024 will be a decline, and I think they're incentivized to make it one.

I don't think anyone is saying that everyone is doing great. However the narrative constantly pushed that the economy is doing bad is not true.

I didnt read through this topic admittedly so Im not saying you said this. But same to any narrative that the economy was better under Trump.

What's the definition of economy? Because the economy is doing amazing. The average person probably is not, but the country sure as shit is. Insane GDP, lowest unemployment in a lifetime, highest average wages ever, stocks near an all time high.

Just the classic the economy "feels" great when it's a Republican in the white house, but "feels" bad when a Democrats in office.
