I remember when I was a wee lad cruising the streets in cool ass cars that I dont know anything about and bobbing in and out of traffic to try to make the cops crash. Do they still do that? Are the NFS games still fun?

NFS Heat was ok

But the story is unfinished and there's only about 6 songs on the soundtrack

I'm curious too, because the last one I played was SE on the PC like two decades ago.

The last games I would say were good were the Criterion games and even then it was just Burnout with a NFS skin, the series lost its identity after they took it away from Black Box

I had fun with 2005 and honestly found it better than Heat (actual drifting game modes instead of overworld map mini objectives). Unbound is fun too although they shifted to cell shaded for the characters but the cars and other graphics themselves are still beautiful as ever.

I've not played a NFS ever since it went "street tuner", which was... 2002?
Anyhow, I have my fondest memories with the very first one... on the 3DO. It still feels unique in that, while the tracks are point-to-point sprints with no side roads, they are very scenic and feel believable. After that game, however, the tracks became very fantastical and unreal.
