invertedlegdrop 11/08/23 6:50:46 PM #8:	4 was when problems started, namely Itagaki spiked the difficulty and nerfed the counter system to appeal more for the EVO hardcode crowd, it sold well but casual player walked away in droves... Even though 4 did well, Tecmo wanted to go multiplatform which Itagaki was dead set against (he had a massive distaste for Sony). So when he bolted after NG2, Tecmo took the series to 360 and PS3.... 5 was okay but Tecmo followed the Capcom model and squeezed out two more versions of 5 and milked the fans with costume DLC too much... 6 tried to tone down the fanservice and focus on E-Sports which ticked off fans and then when Koei-Tecmo has the gall to come back after that failed to try to appeal to the fans with more costume DLC, the fans rightfully told them to take a hike and within a year DoA6 was dead... I watched some videos about the newer games in the series because I got the time to pass me by and it was mentioned already though. How endless dlc outfits and then the shift to a serious fighter left the game in a strange place. DLC outfits are still obviously popular with a crowd but DOA I think did it to excess. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. But I'm willing to bet on BoJack Horseman. When the developers decided to just hide all that behind a paywall, that killed a lot of its luster. Toning down the t&a was just the final straw. --- --I understand your opinion.
