I can't tell if this is whinging or I'm getting whooshed, but in a lot of the games Zelda is actually a competent, if not adept, magic user while Link is still breaking people's pots just to scrap together shield money. Even as far back as the original game, she was a triforce wielder and Link didn't even have a sword to defend himself until he met an old man in a cave.
