But i'm gonna get it anyway because i just love SH2 so much and like that dude from the X-Files I want to believe.

I mean SH2 does have some glaring flaws you can fix without messing up the atmosphere and story.

Since Bloober is going to do their own take on SH 2 and not going to get it.

Silent Hill 2 RE has a pretty good chance at being really good. People forget the original had tanky controls and this has already improved on that from the trailers. Better graphics added in will make this a good game. Yall know Bloober Team has a good track record, right?

The Medium, Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, The Observer.

Just because they made a statement about wanting to shy away from the type of horror games theyve done in the past doesnt mean Silent Hill 2 is in trouble lol. This board sometimes takes news and overreacts way too much.

They could have waited to release a gameplay video before pre-orders, too, but that ship has sailed. They chose this path, let them deal with the consequences.

I fully agree about controls (and there's other aspects of SH2 that can be easily improved too)

But I'm not too sold on the idea of the graphics. SH2's PS2 era graphics were perfect for the atmosphere and the fog puts in work like it always does.

The HD version looked much shitter than the OG.

I don't recall any point in SH2 where I was like "This would be great if it wasn't so ugly!" it was all themeatic.

And look at Caslito Protocol to see how the prettiest graphics in the world won't save you from a shitty ass shit shit shit game.

In fact if they're bragging about graphics for a Silent Hill game, that's already a red flag that they've kind if missed the point.

all those games are bad. the closest to acceptable one is the observer but even it is heavily flawed and has all of bloober teams hallmark failings

the fact that some of Team Silent is involved gives me some hope.

Im playing Callisto Protocol right now and its a pretty great game. I know at release there were some performance issues on PC and some balance issues, but then game had been patched a few weeks after launch fixing all of that. I think people made up their minds before that and still think its a bad game.

thats because those games were basically a hackneyed attempt at a silent hill narrative without a hint of subtlety or skill

they wouldnt be good at making silent hill fanfics and putting them on ao3, let alone reimagining sh2

Bullshit. The Internet was all ready to praise the game to high heavens because it had some Dead Space devs on it.

And although the release state was absolutely pathetic, the annoying glitches and constant bugs weren't the reason the game sucked. Fallout New Vegas was way worse and people like it.

The game is just fundamentally broken, boring as hell, terrible story, no amtosphere, dull dull dull gameplay and level design, utterly useless combat system. Complete lack of vareity and replay value. Repeteated bossfights to rival the Titans in Arkham Asylum. Brought 0 new ideas to the table and executed every rehased idea worse than games released 10-20 years ago.

It's an incredibly bad game that's very pretty. If anything people were far far far too generous to it because it was so pretty.

If it had been released by Bethesda or Konami, people would be utterly tearing it apart for years to come for how fundamentally bad and untested it was on pretty much every level beyond visuals.

Mass Effect 2's 1.5 hour Overlord DLC released in 2010 is unironically a better Sci-fi Horror experience than Calitso Protocol.
