I also watched the first ep of season 8.

I didn't see the resignation twist coming, I thought there would be a 3rd season in this arc with some more Russia stuff. Season 7 finished strong which is good because season 6 was a real slow burn and didn't feel like it fully paid off until the end of season 7, even with everything that happened at the end of season 6. I'm glad I marathon'd this instead of watching it live tbh.

I was also half expecting the Oval Office to get hit by a Russian missile during the re-swearing-in ceremony, after what happened at the end of season 2.

as for the first ep of season 8, I can't see any reason the CIA might have let Carrie back in other than them using her for something. hopefully they don't make Saul the bad guy after they kind of reconciled last season. and hopefully Max gets to help kill Haqqani after what he did to Fara.

oh and Quinn deserves a medal. and Rupert Friend should have gotten at least a nomination for a best supporting actor award for season 6.

Im on s8 ep 5 now and I have no idea who's the bad guys now

I watched the first couple of seasons. It was a good show then, but there was a bit too much flip flopping with some characters.

I'm amazed it's still going

The show is tremendous and Claire Danes is absolutely magnificent as Carrie. I was a bit let down in the later seasons regarding storylines, but regarding characters Homeland simply nails it. Quinn was great and I could never get enough of Sol or Carrie.

that cliffhanger at the end of ep 5 was annoying

but I hope it means Max is still alive.

I watched through the S4 finale. That episode turned me off, and I hadnt picked it back up since.

Judging strictly by IMDB ratings, it seems like that may have been the low point.

yeah it definitely did go down in quality imo

I dunno if the show got canceled unexpectedly or what but I'm on ep 8 and I dunno how they could wrap this up in a satisfying way

or I guess it could just end on a "war is inevitable, the world is fucked" kind of note which would be..fitting.
