Being able to lounge around anywhere and play Steam was the appeal. I'm currently working on mine. I'm gonna have it auto boot into windows when docked and steam is when it's not. Nifty as a work PC. A big update is coming to boost game performance and screen colors but Valve is taking its typical amount of time to release the thing to the main branch. Since it uses mid range hardware from a year ago modern triple A games struggle to run on it unless optimized. Hence why there's no real new release hype. At the end of the day it's a PC, not a console, so it's not a Switch situation where developers are making lower-end versions of their games specifically targeting the outdated hardware out of the box; it takes a ton of post-release optimization for some newer games to become decently playable on Deck.
