I broke my toe like 5 years ago and it was like that. Found out it was broken 3 years ago. It's currently still broken.

To my understanding there's really nothing to DO about a broken toe anyway.
If it's really bad you'll need a splint or whatever I guess? Brace?

But yeah, it's not that uncommon to break toes and not even realize it. I've definitely broken toes on either foot from wrestling and/or football at least once and probably more than I realize.

If it's not a clean break, you're probably fine. I only had to get one of those fancy strapped sandals once I finally broke my pinky toe. Granted, my pinky toes are gnarled from blunt trauma, and the doctor said the break was likely a microfracture that became a not-micro fracture.

It just gets sore when I walk on it. So I subtly alter my gait to stop that. Which then hurts my leg, which then hurts my hip, then my back, etc.

So now I just tough it out and walk correctly when I can.

Broke my big toe once. Made putting on shoes and socks rough for a few weeks

I did a google and apparently they give you a boot for toes, it's fingers they tape.

I'm a toe walker too, so I feel like if it were broken, I'd notice.

Broke one of mine nearly nine weeks ago. Still not 100%, but I can go back to running on it again.

But yeah, unless you displaced it so bad you need surgery, they dont do anything for it.

When I broke my big toe, it felt like I had ice on one side and a blowtorch on the other, but I never got a clear answer on the extent of the damage. Hands down the worst pain Ive ever felt, and Ive hurt myself a bunch of times. (To make matters worse, I was recovering from a broken sacrum at the time.)

Toes have a lot of nerve endings, so even stubbing your toe can hurt a lot. As it turns out, mine didnt recover right and it doesnt bend now, so get it checked out if its not recovering.

Oh, also be careful for an ingrown toenail if you badly stubbed it. I had to have surgery to repair that on my good big toe.
