If you think stealing property is deserving of being killed, you are part of the gun problem in America.

That's not defending theft, as that's also wrong. The punishment should be jail time, not death.
It happens frequently enough that jail time is no longer a deterrent for this abhorrent behavior. Also, the police truly don't give a shit if someone steals your property.

I'm not saying everyone should grab a gun and shoot any person who steals from them, but if some people choose to defend themselves and their property with a firearm I certainly understand why they do so.

Fuck criminals and anyone who sides with them. Fucking scumbags.

That's funny. Cause murder tends to carry the death penalty as a punishment, yet that's still not a deterrent as people still murder.

No, you're just strongly implying that killing someone is an appropriate response to theft. Because jailing thieves isn't enough for you.

So where's the line? Should people be able to shoot shoplifters as well? How about someone leeching off your wifi? Help me out here.

Honestly it's only going to get worse as police aren't even expected to do anything anymore, at least in my city. I've submitted three police reports in the last year of people car prowling with security cam footage with the license plate clearly visible and nothing has ever happened.

I don't blame people going after it alone anymore.

It doesn't matter, you keep trying to appeal to feelings over what these stupid mofos in Texas have as a law. It clearly says you have no obligation to retreat. It clearly mentions property, it clearly extends to the vehicle. Trying to change what the object is doesn't change reality.

I don't think it should be an appropriate response. What I find worse is when it's a "pick and choose when we actually use it." Either use it consistently or get rid of the law.

Theft should not be punishable with death.

As for using a bat? Depends. Are they letting any would be thief flee, or are they chasing after them and trying to bash their head in? Cause one would be chasing a their off, and the other would be trying to finish them off.

Don't get me wrong, stealing from anyone is inherently a risky move with potentially terrible consequence. Just, again, human life shouldn't be placed below property.

It doesn't matter if it's first or not. People keep trying in general. "You" is generalized in this case.

The Castle doesn't really substitute a ps5 in and of itself. However, the methods to get a ps5 itself would mean that it's probable that it's in their house, which means that, yes, this law would apply to "trying to steal a ps5" because you're on their property.

Again I could have added that detail - taking a PS5 from someone's house to your home - is there a case like that? (has been applied)
