I went to a Bengals preseason game last year, but those tickets are extremely cheap.

I went to a Chargers/Raiders game (I think?) like over a decade ago. I don't like football at all. It's crazy how I've been to a game yet a lot of my football fanatic friends never have.

Most people may only go to an NFL game once or twice in their entire lives as an experience, so theyre willing to pay.

Then you have the fanatics, wholl are willing to drop serious money no matter what just because they love football.

The rise in ticket prices is one of many reasons why the atmosphere at sporting events pales to, even just 30 years ago.

Prices can depend on the teams season. Back when the Chiefs sucked, they were selling the 50 yard line, close to the field tickets for $30 or so.

Just a few years ago niners tickets were worthless. Consider yourself lucky that your team is good enough for tickets to be that price.

The average initial ticket price is $140, for a Niners ticket. The average second hand price is $400ish, but compared to last year, that's down almost $300.

$330 seems on the very low end of second hand prices, actually. But also, those prices tend to only be for the current week's game. You can save money if you buy in advance from season ticket holders.

And it depends entirely on what you want, to be fair. If you're a casual fan, and you want to buy second hand, find a season ticket holder who is offering their leftover tickets on a team forum or whatever, and pick a non-rivalry game that is atleast a few weeks out. You'll likely get a good price.

The NFL hasn't been non-profit since 2015. They voluntarily dropped non-profit status then.

It really depends which team you want to go to.
Houston Texans have the lowest prices, at about $140 a ticket.
Las Vegas has the highest, at about $269 a ticket (cheapest I could find)

Yeah, Vegas is super high since, even though the Raiders currently suck, Vegas is a huge market just from tourism alone. It's why teams are flocking here, lately.

The best time to buy tickets second hand for any sport is either weeks in advance, or literally the night of. I got Golden Knight tickets for an absolute steal from somebody who was desperate to unload them, and I literally got to witness the game where they broke the Lightning's 11 game winning streak. It was a hell of a night.

What percentage are season ticket holders?
I know the Patriots have crazy fans and the waitlist for a season pass is 20 years now.

Literally depends on the team, honestly. It's tough to say.

I will say there is a high percentage of season ticket holders who don't actually go to every game, and thus sell the tickets for the games they don't go to, but this varies depending on what the team is, how well they're doing, etc.

It kind of just depends on how popular the team is. It was cheaper for my brother to fly to Baltimore and watch the Vikings play the Ravens for me than it was to try to get reasonable seats at US Bank Stadium for the Vikings. Ravens tickets aren't particularly cheap either.

But I got to see the 49ers play the Commanders a few years ago for like... $50 after fees because even though the 49ers are popular, the Commanders absolutely were not.

I have been to one live game - NY Jets. I dont think they were doing too well, my BIL either got the tickets for free or paid very little from someone who had season tickets. It was nosebleed section and it was fucking cold that day. A lot of people left before the game over over, lol.

Certain teams are more popular nationwide than others, so it's tougher to buy tickets. Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, etc. have pretty spread out fanbases, so it's tougher to get tickets for a good price for them vs., say, the Browns, for example.

That's another thing, yeah. Location matters a lot. Nobody wants to see a northern team, in the middle of winter, facing a non-rivalry opponent, if they aren't in playoff contention, so those tickets sell for dirt cheap.

It's why Vegas tickets go for so much, the weather is always good.

Some teams have no wait list for season tickets, while Green Bay's wait list is 955 years, and Philly's is 4,000 years.....

Been to four NFL games.

First I was a kid and have no idea the cost. Probably cheap, though.

Two more in New Orleans as I'm a Saints fan. First wasn't nosebleeds but close. Was $150 a ticket. Second was at the fifty yard line three rows from the field. $600 for my ticket.

Last game was at Washington... Lower level near the 45 and it was like $25. They were playing the Jets and both were awful that year. Rode up with a friend and enjoyed a good game.

Will likely to to a Panthers game next year because my son has been wanting to go.

Went to the Giants/Cardinals game a few weeks ago. $200 for lower level near the endzone but that stadium always gives a good view of the field. 10/10 would do it again especially since I didn't have to pay for my ticket.
