That him saying that the funds to build new parts of the border wall, had to be built cause of funding requirements and he had no choice? How many of you here do support spending a lot of money to build more border wall?

Hasnt the government dipped into social security countless times to fund random bullshit? If they can do that, then funds set aside for a stupid wall can surely be redirected as well.

If he didn't have to , then why did he do it? He supports it?

I think this may be a deal he made with republicans to get them to vote for Ukraine Funding. I hope that's not the case as republicans won't hold their part of the bargain.

When you say "border wall" do you actually mean border security including deterrent fencing generically, or do you mean Donald Trump's grand promises of a giant wall across the entire southern border that Mexico is going to pay for?

If congress specifically designated money for a purpose and that was signed into law by a president, the president can't later on just say he doesn't want to follow the law

To me, this whole topic seems like one of those fake virtue signals, where a conservative attacks from the left by leveraging something they don't care about or actually oppose.

In this case, he will attack Biden as anti-immigration (which is party true) while he actually supports republican plans for increased border militarization - while at other times engaging in claims that democrats support "open borders" (largely untrue) or at the very least refusing to engage or challenge fellow conservatives who spout such misinformation.

These. This has been ruled on by courts numerous times. Presidents can't just reallocate money that was designated for a specific purpose by congress.

Because they're waiving 26 laws in this process.

The money has been spent already, so losing nothing on that since that money literally could not be used for anything else. However, why he is doing it now and bypassing other laws that doesnt make any sense.

I dunno that's the kind of energy I get from these topics that are kind of vaguely worded and the TC seems to be just asking a question all curious and "aww shucks" like... and then later it turns out they have quite a lot of strong opinions on the matter after they pick through the posts and find ones they can pounce on.
