Durham, Fayetteville, Lumberton.

There's cities with more violence per person, but they're a lot smaller so it's less crime overall.

I don't think Fayetteville and Durham are as bad as everyone says. Lumberton yeah, but Rocky Mount is worse than all of them. I can't think of a single good area around Rocky Mount. At least Durham is near Raleigh/Cary/Apex/Morrisville and Fayetteville has Hope Mills. Everything around Rocky Mount sucks.

I was going to put Rocky Mount but I felt like listing 4 just made us look really bad lmao. Place is an absolute shithole, tho.

Then you should know that city isn't dangerous. It's nothing but townhouses, shopping, and Pixar.

Theres a lot of choices in CT, though it depends on your definition of city.

Hartford and Bridgeport probably. They say Waterburys pretty bad, too.

Crime rate. It's unfortunate that you're taking this so personally. I said at the beginning I'm going by what a quick search showed me. You putting "research" in quotes as if you're trying to trivialize my effort somehow even though it was no effort looking at the top 10 results of a search . I get it, you live in the area. Maybe instead of talking around in circles you can find a better answer.

Phoenix.

Glad I sold my condo last year for double what I paid for it in 2017 and moved into the mountains. Too many people in that fucking city and theres nothing to do there. Just expensive apartments and a water shortage.

St. Louis

There are some really rough small towns around the state but for cities, St. Louis is just...off. You know how a bunch of urban centers declined in the 70s and 80s but eventually rebounded? Much of St. Louis has not, and it's damn unfortunate. It's especially sad because it used to be a major city (like top 5 in the nation).

That said, Kansas City has this absolutely abysmal problem with homicide so even if has more surface appeal, the whole getting randomly murdered thing means it's not great either.

Teaneck is super safe compared to either of them. I lived in Bergenfield which is right next to Teaneck, I felt much safer on Teaneck Road than I did in somewhere like Branch Brook Park in Newark.

Teaneck has this weird singularity around it to me. There's people getting shot for 40 bucks next to neighborhoods with massive wealth.

Quite a few of our towns and cities have a strongly defined split between the safe, upper-middle class area, and the side where they make, steal, and do drugs constantly. Hell, Montclaire's economy runs because of this.

The entire metro area of the city feels like a giant suburb null and void of any personality or anything super noteworthy to do aside from shopping and dining. Like, I could drive close to 2 hours from San tan valley to good year/303 area and its still the same blah. The museums and zoo are nice but I get bored of the touristy bullshit any city has to offer.

and dont even get me started on the heat, I could fully bake cookies in my black sedan in like an hour.

It's funny how people have different perspectives.

I'm from a small city in BC, and IMO Phoenix is the most fun city I've ever been to. I was actually going through major culture shock my first few days there and didn't even know where to begin with activities.

The party scene in Scottsdale, the live music shows in Tempe, endless live sports, the crazy ass malls that are more of a spectacle then for actual shopping, the outdoor activities, I was just gobsmacked my entire time there.

I actually love the heat (Not sure about deep deep summer at 113+ yet, but up to 104 I was dancing from place to place), but again being from Canada to me I was on cloud 9. I could easily live there until I melt into the ground with a smile on my face.

Marana on the other hand was pretty dust, but the Cactus Reserve was a fun spectacle.

Either Paterson or Newark

Paterson is pretty bad, and I know this because I live relatively near it; I've had my car surrounded by a bunch of people thinking I'm there to buy drugs and someone approaching my car for likely nefarious reasns. Clifton is better than all of them though since I don't feel uneasy being in them and not on a highway driving through. Can't say much for Passaic, Englewood or Garfield, I haven't been in either much outside of a few times driving through the latter.

I used to work in Hackensack and I've heard of some not great stuff happening there but nothing as bad as Newark or Camden. IIRC Elizabeth and Linden aren't good either.
