Thank god, someone who gives negative-ish reviews. I don't want to watch a reviewer such say everywhere is "absolutely delicious, etc...the fat just melts.. WOW, Seasoned all the way through with the rub, absolutely delicious....".
Like what's the point of a review, if you just say positive things about every-fucking-thing, it's not reviews then, it's just a fucking ad.

I had one. It was decent frozen pizza, but not really necessary. I get this is a pretty harsh take about nothing, but if one of your main claims to fame is being a professional pizza reviewer, don't release a crappy version of the thing you're known for critiquing.

My take on Dave is he does come off as a douche at times, but his videos are interesting.

Though there is something. His scale is a little weird. Like, a 6.4 isn't amazing pizza but it's decent. People may look at a 6.4 and just think it sucks, but 6.4 is decent. a 7.2 is "pretty good" but people also may not realize his scale. He also scores most neapolitan pizzas a 6.8, which if that is what you make you might get branded a 6.8 which, if people don't know daves scale, that's a fine neapolitian pizza.

What I always dislike with this kind of stuff is the fact he can destroy a business I feel like if it gets a low score. Which, sure, if the pizza sucks it sucks but it's weird one guy can basically set the tone. Or what if you own a pizza place that has great pizza and you make good money as the owner. Dave shows up, gives you an 8.8, a really high score for him, and for the next several weeks/months you are slammed all day to the wall. You'd think that'd be good, but maybe the owner was content before and aggravated now.

Just seems weird one single guy can affect so much. But the videos themselves are entertaining to me.

His scale is really easy to understand.

6-7 average slice
7-8 if your in the area slice
8-9 go out of your way to get this slice
9-10 plan your trip to get this slice

That's basically it. He's also made it very clear how he likes his pizza. Thin Crust Cheese Pizza when doing reviews. I think its because it keeps it fair for any restaurant. Other ingredients can skew the taste of a fair review. So by keeping it simple, it means that he can judge the crust, cook and whatnot of the pizza without it weighing it down.

I get it if people don't like Dave. He can come across as an asshole. Especially in his business mentality. But at the same time, the owner was just as big of an asshole in this instance. Had he shut his mouth and kept to himself, Dave would have been gone in 3 minutes. But he chose to come out and bitch and whine and act like a toddler, and Dave reciprocated.

His scale isn't difficult and he does explain his scale in his videos, but I wonder how many people actually understand though...like half guest reviewers wanna give the pizza a 10, which dave never does. so people might see the majority of his scores in the 7s or so and think everything is meh.

Maybe people are smarter than I think, i do not know.

Usually anything over 8 is excellent, hes hesitant to go over 9 unless its world class

The funny thing is he had beef with Jack's, frozen pizza, during the pandemic because they didn't sent him free pizza. He trashed them during his review, and I understand they're decent for fronzen pizza, while people trashed his brand of frozen pizza for being terrible.

youtubers that do this kind of content shouldn't be posting the address of these so called "worst reviewed restaurant on yelp" because it hurts the business and may encouraging doxxing/harassment of the workers . just review the food and that's it. no need to shame the people working there.

This scumbag "Reviewed" the pizza place across the street from where i work, and threw a hissy fit because he showed up unannounced and they were closed for a staff-only party and literally couldn't make any pizzas.
