Oreo. Hydrox came first and Oreo began as the knockoff, but they're way better and have more variety.

I have, but it's been a long time. You used to be able to get them at dollar general or some place like that when I was a kid. I don't remember whether I preferred them to Oreo or not, though. Probably not, because I wasn't just asking to go to whatever store it was every time I wanted a chocolate cookie.

Hydrox seems like it was just killed because of its awful branding. Objectively speaking, it seems to be the better cookie, not having all the fake crap in it and being less saccharine. That also stacks things up against it though in most American's taste in things, which is trash.

For me, oreos are like, a mix-in to ice cream. I'd never eat one alone, that's disgusting. It needs something else to balance out the overwhelming sweetness.

I haven't had Hydrox in decades, but based on what I remember of them and how they're described, I'd choose them over Oreos if I saw them in the store. I also like the font for the name better.
