As I said when I first saw it back then, the only bad part about Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker is that we only got to see it once.

Overrated movie, but it's the best of its trilogy.

For reference at how crazy superfilms have gotten, at the end of its run The Dark Knight became the sixth highest grossing film of all time (not adjusted for inflation).

Fifteen years later, it's no longer even in the top fifty.

Where's the trigger!!!???

That depresses me. But that's life.

I actually missed it in theaters, when I finally got the chance to go to the movies they'd inexplicably taken it off their screens.

Oh god, 15 years. :(

I remember seeing the ending for Begins and being so hyped for the next movie. It felt like an insanely long wait and I was always on the look out for any new info or pictures of it. I was on the Dark Knight IMDB board every day. When I finally saw it, it was amazing and I still remember that day I saw it in the theater. Nowadays I don't like it as much as I did. It's still a great movie, but there's just some things that bug me and things I wish were different.

My meaning was that it felt longer because of the hype even though it was just 3 years.

I did not like the Joker in it. He needs to be more Clown Prince of Crime, and less dark brooding. What I'm saying is that this how the Joker should be:

I don't think I've ever watched a trailer more than I did for TDK. Back in the early days of Youtube. And then about 2 weeks before the movie came out, the bank robbery scene leaked and me and the college bros all watched that scene at least 10x in a row.

I liked Ledger's take on The Joker, but I dislike how now every Joker has to be like him now. I miss the Crown Prince of Crime kind of Joker and hope some day he comes back in movie form.

I like both Jokers, though... you'll never see me throwing shade at Cesar Romero. I even like that he kept his mustache and just put makeup on over it. lol.

The movie board was great with casting "The gay cowboy!" and then seeing set pics of him as the Joker. lol

I was obsessed with this movie and was posting on SuperHeroHype at the time and... oh god, there were entire topics about that shit. I was too young to remember the whining about Keaton playing Batman but I got to see what it was like with the gay cowboy stuff.

And it was funny to see the biggest complainers become the biggest Heath Ledger fans in the world as more stuff about the movie came out. And I'm not saying that to mock them, either, because they really did. They went from being haters to legit loving the guy.

Legit still one of my all time favorite movies, and probably my favorite superhero movie. Certainly my favorite live action Batman movie. I still remember seeing it for the first time and being blown away.

The Batusi absolutely needs to make a comeback in a big way. And I'd call it more of a dad bod than a pot belly.

I legit think The Dark Knight is the peak movie for me in the cinemas. Nothing will match the experience I had going to watch it day one.

For some people that movie is Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Matrix etc.

For me that's TDK. The perfect movie at the perfect time of my life. I was absolutely enthralled from start to finish.

It released in Australia a day early too. It was surreal coming on the boards here and barely seeing any discussion. Then a day later it was dominating the discussion.

Remember that scene where they could find a trigger man's fingerprints from the bullet holes

it was too long because of the harvey dent stuff and as a result the endpoint of the harvey story suffers a lot because so much of it is (rightfully) focused on the joker. two face should have been the third movie instead of the bane shit

Its a good film and Ledger was fantastic, but overall I think that Begins is the better movie. Rises is awful.

I looked at pictures and you're right. I think I just remembered it that way because that huge utility belt looked very unflattering on him and made him seem bigger in the belly than he really was.
