The obsession started when most AAA devs decided it's way easier to go for some gimmicky visual effects than actual fluid gameplay.

Who even notices dynamic lighting, next-gen shadows, a bit better draw distance in dynamic games where you need to put all of your focus on the gameplay.

But it's way easier to scale things up to 4k with irrelevant gimmicks than produce a stable framerate.

You'll be lucky if it runs at a stable 30.

That's my main concern. Too many games that are locked to 30 struggle to maintain 30. Tears of the Kingdom is my most recent bugbear for this. In a lot of areas dips regularly to the 20ish range, and it's really jarring.

Devs ensuring that their games on both Series S and X are really getting screwed by Microsoft's choice to make a 'budget console.'

Everyone who never experienced a fast-paced game at 240+ fps should find a way to do so. I don't care how, but once you feel the fluidity you can't ever go back.

Sounds like a good way to ruin gaming for yourself. Right now I have zero issue playing games that are 30 fps, so I don't think I'd want to make myself not able to do that anymore

When I'm immersed into a game, especially first-person shooters, I don't really care about graphics quality. Shadows, reflections, lighting, dynamic this or that, who cares. As long as the game is fluid.

This 30fps, was clearly a design choice to keep it more Cinematic, rather than a limitation of the Limitless, and Most Powerful Console ever designed, the Series X.

Put me in front of a game running at 30fps, and one running at 60fps, and I can tell you which is which 10 out of 10 times. I don't even need to be controlling it.

those are some of the games that i remember releasing with framerate problems at launch. I'm sure its fixed now but i remember all the complaints about it
