I've said this before, but just playing it on an emulator immediately makes it much better. Removing those multiminute load times lets you enjoy the good parts and zip through the bad parts.
Is rather replay '06 without load times than any of the Unleashed versions.

But I don't take my opinions from Game Grumps, so...

sonic 06 was bad for more reasons than just console tier load times

Did it fix the Silver boss battle? I remember getting locked because I was trapped against a wall and the rings kept falling on my head and I keep hearing "IT'S NO USE!". I was basically asking for death at this point.

Mephiles was a good villain and the soundtrack is my favorite of any Sonic game.

All other 3D Sonics are at the absolute worst mediocre.
It's only 06 and Boom that are legitimately trash.

Did they finish up with the other characters levels? Like shadows levels and what not. That's where they were last I heard about it.

I remember getting Sonic 06 on Christmas when I first got my PS3 as a kid. I tried to convince myself that the game was good, but I gave up around Kingdom Valley. I remember last year when they added Sonic 06 back to the Microsoft store. I figured why not and decided to finally finish it, and it's as awful as I remember. Oddly enough I find everything from the Silver boss fight to the Billiards puzzle to Amy's gameplay as kinda endearing nowadays.

It's still not good. The fan remake is just only as bad as the typical 3D Sonic game, as opposed to being the notoriously awful trainwreck the original game was. From a 2/10 to a 4/10.

Love the sonic fangame fanbase, but I want 06 to play like Unleashed or Generations

As long as they replace the kiss with a full makeout scene, I'm sold.
