My current job is like this, especially after automating a lot of manual processes. I do very little work day-to-day, but the work that I do is important.

Yes. I was a Service Desk Admin, then they promoted me to Jira Administrator.

I also work from home, so it's pretty much perfect.

I'm a Database Administrator and somedays I do nothing. The most I'll do is make sure last night's databases are backed up correctly in the morning via email alerts and that's it. I'm done for the day.

DBAs are highly sought over and if I can do it anyone of yall can do it.

I have AA in Network and Admin, a SQL Server Cert and a Microsoft Database Fundamental cert. That's it. Pretty sure my AA degree is useless for my position as well so we're only factoring my certs. And I have 10 years worth of IT experience as well.

Nope, the only hard requirement was customer service experience, thought I did have my A+ certification when they hired me. I learned almost everything on the job.

It was originally meant to be a more basic service desk job, but I had been working on more complex projects so they created a new position for me.

My job is currently like that. I am an engineer for a renewable company and solar panel supply from China is completely fucked right now so all our projects are on hold until it gets resolved. So I haven't been doing shit basically all year so far.
