there's constantly scrums and piles and shit where people are on the ground, arms and legs and shit exposed, blades pointing up, etc.

the only two instances i can think of are the dude who got his throat slashed and almost died like 30 years ago, and one guy got his wrist slashed like last year

That throat incident was a freak accident where someones skate came up and caught that goalie.
For the most part, skate incidents barely happen cause most players have good control of their feet.

A dude got his face slashed last week or so. 70+ stitches and played the next game.

There isnt a lot of exposed skin and the materials are very strong. Hockey jerseys are a cool material.
