This has nothing on the BS I heard about Pokmon. People at the factory were taking rare cards off the line and keeping them. So people

Legal is still up in the air until more information is out on the leak, but theres PLENTY of moral grounds to stand on. Leakers can suck one, especially when in their grand presentation they can't be fucked to pronounce the word "dead".

This kind of stuff is freakishly easy to avoid.

Random dude. Literally did nothing wrong, he ordered a normal product and was sent the new boxes by mistake. The most WOTC can do legally is go after the distributor.

Frankly this should trigger an investigation and arrests against WOTC but we know it won't.

Here's a quick litmus test:

Are you on the same side as the Pinkertons? Then you are in the wrong. Morally, ethically and legally.

This case is a good example of why it's important to understand your rights. Under no circumstances should he have allowed a third party to confiscate his legal property. If WotC believed the cards to be stolen they would have gotten the police involved.

If an item is purchased legally and sent early it is not the customer's fault.
Any forced seizure of a person's property by any organization that is not a government branch with proper documentation is unlawful.
If I was that guy I would get some lawyers involved big time.

They spend almost the entire game as the personal army of an industrialist robber baron except for the very end where they are acting primarily out of revenge. They are trying to only get Dutch because Cornwall has a vendetta against Dutch specifically

They were basically a private wing of law and labor enforcement for the rich, and someone saying that out loud was probably what they were mad about

That is easy to say in the moment but Pinkerton's entire deal is intimidating people through implied* physical force and authority. It's not unreasonable that he didn't immediately tell them to piss off when they showed up at his door demanding stuff, even if he was absolutely in the right to do so.

*Only implied nowadays. Back in the day they just brutalized the shit out of people.
