If I accept the job, I'll be in charge of this IDIOT who sent these harassing messages to an old co-worker. This guy disgusts me, and I have not spoken to or made eye contact with him for almost 3 years (since I've known about these messages).

One of my conditions I want to name is that I will need him gone if I'm to accept the job. Either terminated, or moved to a position where I won't have to deal with him. He's useless anyway. He isn't physically equipped to do the job. Here are the messages, since everyone always thinks I'm overreacting until I show them the messages:

So do you guys think it would be out of line for me to request that this guy be moved to a different position if I accept the job? I guess I'm willing to show them the messages if it comes to that. My other condition I've already named, that has been accepted, was that I wouldn't have to answer to one of the psychopath managers that screwed me over in the past. If they were cool enough to accept that condition, maybe they'd consider this one as well.

The higher-ups are practically begging me to take the management job, btw. That's why I feel comfortable listing conditions. But I don't want to make myself look bad, if this condition about getting rid of a guy might make me look immature or extreme.

I certainly would not want to work with someone who sent messages like that. I think it's a reasonable request

Not really. I'm pretty much just stuck with people they give me. I could write him up if he doesn't perform the job, but that may be harder to do considering he has an injury.

It definitely doesn't make you look good unless you're willing to show these messages to someone. Unless they know the situation, it'd just come off as petty work differences. If he's actually useless, then you have other means of removing him later. You've essentially got a loaded gun though with those texts. It's up to you if you want to use it.
