I farmed for a long time for the black knight shield from the first black knight in Dark Souls
Havel can't even break the guard with a two hand club smash at 12 endurance
Old knight shield in Dark Souls 2 is just the same
Dark Souls 3 has a farming spot for it after the first boss if you run there

Is there a broken ass shield in Demon Souls just as good as this that's available early on

The Purple Flame shield can be gotten in the very first area and is an amazing shield.

Dead-angles, ghost strikes, and the Shotel says hi.

Demons Souls has the only final boss you can easily beat dual wielding shields

Different in Elden Ring when it has extra mechanics built around guard counters tbqh, but really pros gave no place to mock anyone lol

Shields are noob tools, yes. They're fine to use while you're getting your bearings and learning the game, but at the end of the day, they're a crutch and you should work towards weaning yourself off as you improve your skills.

You aren't better in any way because you don't use shields. There's multiple legit ways to play the game, sword and board among them.

Shields have their uses, but it's best to never depend on them 100%.

The Grass Crest shield (found early in the game) can be used while benefiting its idle stamina regen.

Souls vets are laughable

Essentially: use what you want, including shields, as long as you're still able to roll.

blocking is like 70%
