Because every time I drink straight milk my stomach gets all funny. Cheese, yogurt, and whatever else is fine though

I get mucus build up in my throat when I drink it.

You only absorb about 30% of what is listed as available. So if a glass has 300 mg, you absorb 90 mg. Truthfully you are better off getting your calcium from a supplement.

Calcium supplements can be Calcium carbonate, Calcium citrate, Calcium gluconate, or Calcium lactate.

I love milk, although I don't drink it much anymore after I stopped eating cereal for breakfast.

That said, are milk alternatives really at all healthy? They must be heavily processed. Of course better than real milk if you're allergic.

Milk in a recipe is fine. Flavored milks are cool. Good in coffee. With cookies or pastries, fine.

As a drink on its own it's fucking vile.

"Screw milk" is about the most internet stance I've ever seen. Its milk, dudes.

I wouldn't mind switching to alternative milk if the price is cheaper than dairy milk. In my country it's almost 3x more expensive.

I don't know about commercial operations but when I make homemade almond milk, there are usable solids leftover. I bake with them or use them as a thickener.

Cow milk exists for exactly one purpose: adding hundreds of pounds of weight to baby cows.

I only imbibe milk when having cereal or certain sweets, like cake. It really does do nothing but pack on weight.

So just so we're on the same page, you consider this response to my post to be somebody recognizing the pros and cons and not being a troll:

Is that what you call a rational adult giving a reasonable argument about the cons of something while also recognizing the pros?

You opened with a moving goal post, then ignored the data that directly counteracted your main point and shifted arguments (to one I already addressed). I'm not vegan, I'm eat ice cream right now. But lots of people are lactose intolerant and cows are generally worse for the environment than their alternatives in every category. We don't get beef from milk cows and vice versa, there are alternative options to leather, different kinds of meat, even different kinds of milk.

I have nothing against the dairy and beef industry, but a while lot of what we think is normal, in terms of milk and meat consumption, has only been that way for the last 40-100 years.

If you put no effort into your posts, don't expect any back.

I drink half a gallon of cows milk a day. I work an active job + go to the gym. It is a very easy source of calories and protein. Soy and oat milk sounds disgusting.
