I havent enjoyed Zelda since it was 2D.

Minish Cap, Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, and Oracle of Ages were prime Zelda games.

Ocarina was very good for its time, but it has aged poorly, especially in terms of pacing.

Majora's Mask just felt too constrictive for me and I've never gotten into the mood to come close to beating it.

Wind Waker was fun albeit short and an obvious victim of deadline cuts. Fantastic art style, though.

Twilight Princess has its moments, but holy cow is it a slog to start the game.

Skyward Sword was an objective mess. The cistern was a good dungeon, though.

Breath of the Wild was a masterpiece and still had loads of room for improvement, which makes me very excited for TotK and the future of the 3D franchise.

Im sure if I went back and played majoras mask it would be underwhelming. But I still really like the tonal change the game had. It will always hold a special place for me cause of that.

MM was fun as hell. Never understood the opinion that it was bad. The light temple was one of my favorite all dungeons to play through

I replayed it a couple of years ago for the first time in like 10-15 years. Its still great. I recommend everyone playing it, and getting s real notebook to track the side quests based on your own observations (as much as you can without a guide). Its super interesting and fun to observe what the townsfolk do at certain times and try to piece everything together without just looking it up. And the real feeling of dread and sadness that you can glean from certain stories.

MM > WW > BotW > OoT > TP

I do think Majora's Mask is literal garbage, though.

Majora's Mask was just annoying at times.

Wind Waker and OoT are both amazing.

Majora's Mask has a bunch of great concepts...but it's annoying to play as a regular gamer, which is not really what the Zelda franchise is supposed to be about.

Majora's mask has always been booty

I feel like most people who don't like Majora's Mask can't deal with the anxiety of the time limit mechanic. Which isn't really that bad. But to each their own, it's not for everyone.

If you can get past that, it's such a great game with a lot of depth.

I wouldnt say that anxiety is the right word, but more that I personally just found it constrictive and annoying for repetitiveness. Being on a stuck schedule just has never been something that interested me in a Zelda game, and as such I just never liked it enough to finish.

BotW is so boring, Minish Cap is the best Zelda game though

Twilight Princess isnt that good Zelda II is awful Majoras Mask is my personal favorite, though But I also enjoyed Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild Wind Waker is pretty awesome Most of the mobile console games were quite good (like Minish Cal, Oracle games, Link Between Worlds, etc)

Its a Zelda game, so when it first came out, it was also cool to hate on it Once Wind Waker came out, people started liking it again At this point, its just finally even out to people who actually liked it or not

Yeah I never minded the time since you could slow it down and restart it at any time Plus, the way it was meant to be played (according to guides I saw later on), had lots of restating. Haha. But I always tried to finish the whole area in one go if possible I could for the first two areas But since the hookshot opens so much up, I would do the third area in one go I would usually mop up some side quest
