It can... and I've said this about all consoles, they need identity. It's fine to have games put on lockdown for a couple months, but they really need to give bigger indie studios a 10 year locked down contract where they will only release for the PS5. For example, if Lies of P were to be a PS5 exclusive that could drive a bunch of sales right there, since people have been begging for a Bloodborne sequel and right now that's about as close as we are going to get.

I would go one step further and lock down the creators of Atomic Heart, and other companies like that. Really start to build a fresh library of solid titles that people can get behind.

Does anyone remember those weird Youtube videos back in the day of PS2 fans pleading to Sony to go back to PS2 and forget the PS3? Also happened with the Dreamcast. Some people don't know how to move on.

Remember when the biggest selling point of new consoles was whether or not it was backward compatible? Meh.
