60 hz is enough for most games tbh. i remember when i got someone to bully me cuz i said i can play dmc 3 at 60 hz just fine. my feelings actually got hurt that time ( i didn't expect that much mental pain thought i was capable of handling it)

racing games are nice at 144 too

Once you experience 144 you can't go back. Also they aren't even more expensive than 60hz.

Dude browsing the internet and general computer use is way better on 144hz

I have 120 on my ps5 and I cant tell the difference at all. But I dont play shooters so its all action titles like Forspoken, God of War and DMC 5. I was hella disappointed after it was hyped up online so much.

Aside from fps shooters some games have gameplay mechanics based on your fps and monitor response times. Like in resident evil 2 your knife attacks are based on your framerates, higher fps and hz means you get more attack speed

for those type of games its mostly noticeable when moving the camera

I recently upgraded from a 75hz to a 165hz. This man is right, holy fuck. I had to lock a game at 60fps to test something and it felt so slow and wrong.

but anyways yeah it mainly the camera movement. if you play w/ a mouse keyboard it super noticeable imo

for dmc 5 i found similar experience between 60 vs higher fps w/ my playstyle that doesn't abuse some tougher to replicate glitches. this is not the case for dmc 3 w/ mods. found that modded dmc 3 (up to 255 hz possible) it actually becomes much easier to spam more stuff in the air at higher fps (like possible to do 20+ killer bee jcs on a falling enemy at 120 fps vs around 12 of them at 60 fps) didn't find that to be the case w/ dmc 5

also i remember people playing dmc 5 at 30 fps just so they can do some things more reliably like that rose glitch (throw rose and use shotgun almost simultaneously like within 1 frame of eachother or some shit to do some funky shit i forgot the effect) i guess this is tougher to do at higher fps

that said for dmc 3 ive been sticking with 60 fps just ebcause it provides a greater challenge and is what i believe is intended. all the top-tier gameplay vids are at 60 fps afaik i was pretty much cheating in a way w/ 120 fps. i got used to playing it at 120 fps for several years and going back to 60 fps was tough at first.

that said at 60 fps i had to slow down my pace a little bit. which aint a bad thing because lately my hands have been cramping up like crazy. at 120 fps i played a decent % faster. like i spammed more buttons within like a one minute period because the game registered more inputs or whatever this was actually alot easier to do compared to having to play at a certain pace.

at the moment i consider myself somewhat of a 60 fps enthusiast

I usually cap games at 75 because I like my PC running silent. 165hz on the monitor though because the mouse feels sluggish on the desktop at 60-75.

The game that impressed me the most was Tomb Raider 2013. I was blown the fuck away by how much of a difference it is.
