Also Din Grogu doesn't make sense given naming conventions we've seen so far among Mandalorians but that's a minor complain.

I read it was because Din was adopted into the Mandalorians, and still might want to keep some of his personal history involved

Considering the masters were the ones who would have been surrounded by troops, I buy it

TheSavageDragon posted...
That's the one thing that honestly makes sense. The masters are by far the biggest threat by themselves. A single master could easily take out several dozen storm/clone troopers if not for the surprise attack. So of course the focus would be on taking them down during that first wave.

These.

The masters for the most part were in the thick of things in the war and would've been surrounded by clones. Many of the scrubs were not.

The masters also would've been high priority targets. Take them out and there's no one left to actually teach the scrubs. And then the scrubs aren't much of a threat for the most part and even can be nabbed and turned to the dark side as inquisitors.

And yet they sent two whole clones to kill Yoda. And unconfirmed fuck-ups like the one with Obi Wan.

And even removing the statistical probability of more fuck ups like those, I still don't really buy it. Focus or no, surprise or no, we see even padawans mowing through literal hundreds of non-force-sensitive combatants at a time. Maul managed to fight his way through half the 501st completely unarmed with no trouble. Even surprised, out of all the masters we actually see die, I'd argue only Ayla Secura and Plo Koon actually make sense.

I don't think it was a conscious decision to send two clones to assassinate Yoda, those are just the few that were around when the order came through.

As for Obi Wan, well you can't account for everything lol

Maul is a naturally extremely gifted force user who was trained his entire life by one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy

I honestly hated the portrayal of Jedi as "superheroes" in the 2D Clone Wars stuff lol

Even some of the stuff we saw in TFU and the TOR cinematics is a bit too much for my liking.

Is it just a Disney thing that younglings were captured and used by the empire? Palpatine was pretty clear during Lucus era that he wanted them all dead, from the masters to the younglings, artifacts, books, holo messages, temples......everything.

Otherwise having the young killed during the siege made no sense.

No, Palps and the Empire also nabbed and turned any survivors they could prior to Disney as well. Like yeah they killed most of them obviously but some scrub Padawans getting away doesn't really register as a threat to Palps, he's too arrogant for that.

Just watched the finale. It was overall pretty good, but it felt rushed. Some things resolved too quickly and others didn't get resolved at all. Like wtf happened to the tie fighters and bombers? They were still attacking the cruiser when the scene changed, then they were just gone...

At a certain point though, you have to wonder just how well Order 66 did its job.
Given how many jedi there where in the Galaxy pre 66 I'd say reducing them to maybe 100ish is a pretty good job

Hmm a video about the finale explained that foundlings are named differently.

Paz Vizla, Kosta Reeves, Axes Wolves, and Bo Katan Kryse are from Mandalore

Din Djarin was a foundling from Concordia, rescued by deathwatch

Grogu is a foundling rescued by Din Djarin. Thats why hes named that way.

Boba Fett from Jango Fett...its why Bo Katan and others looked down on Boba Fett because he was neither from Mandalore or a foundling.

So if Din is going back to his bounty-hunt ways, what's going to happen to the N-1? He can't really bring people back on that ship.

So, what's next?
Getting the gang from Solo back together, and letting Lord Miller actually do it this time, could be pretty decent.

What do you mean? A continuation of the Solo storyline?

I think after Andor finishes, it's time to move on from that era.

God I wish. Still mad that nothing ever followed up with that on screen. Solo is such an under-appreciated movie. Would love to see Jabba again.

I do appreciate the general devil-may-care tone of Solo. One of the things the prequels had none of and even the sequels were a little too soft on is the scoundrel element.

Mandalorian's scoundrels this season were just those forgettable pirates.

And don't even get me started how Boba Fett dropped the ball on scoundrel...ry.

Donald Glover has been talking to Lucasfilms about doing something with Lando again, so they're potentially going to have something connected to Solo
