Pokemon Go developer Niantic and Capcom have announced Monster Hunter Now, a real-world action RPG mobile game that is set to be released in September 2023 on iOS and Android devices that will allow you and your friends to take down iconic monsters like the Rathalos and Great Jagras on your next walk around the neighborhood.

LMAO. I think mine was a great Maccao as the Gen demo was my first dip into the series. Going from that to I think Nargacuga back when I had no idea what I was doing with CB was fun.

I have enough faith in fivers that they don't hold the Jagras in high regard due to first impressions and that the discovery of Dodogama shattered any love they had for the dumb iguana.

World babies basically think everything in World was better. I mean technically it was the best selling in the series, but it was also basically their first multi-plat MH. The signs were already there since it was always like top 10 best selling game in like 3 different singleton console releases, one of which was the PSP, which was basically considered to be dead and even abandoned by Sony til MH singlehandedly brought it to life and made it a best selling console in Japan of its single only year.

So it wasn't like World literally saved the series. The series was already big in a completely different sphere, which is why there are so many newcomers in World. Which is why some people think World had the hardest Rajang when MH4U had Guild 140 Rajang, which is possibly twice as hard due to the wystone bs

Lol Gen was the only MH I played before World, so I don't really have much right to play the veteran elitist anyway. I guess I also faced a lagombi in a demo for...3U maybe? But I couldn't even get a hint of a grasp of the controls and gave up because MH demos are god awful for introducing you to the series.

So the game will be full of glitches and bugs, it'll cost you to catch the best monsters, they'll release the same monsters with silly hats instead of releasing new content, the support team will blame the player whenever anything goes wrong, and they'll make the game with "their vision" in mind in spite of player retention.

And itll die in two years or less like every other game they've made that wasnt based on a Nintendo property/ingress

They don't sell.... yet they made a Megaman 10 and 11, as well as recently bundling the Battle Network collection. They sell, its just MH is a cash cow that they can't be bothered to take a break from to build up hype.

Generations was awful, why would you claim that is the last one? World + Iceborne is awesome as hell barring some mind boggling decisions with the story / multiplayer, but everything else about it is fantastic.

I didn't like Rise, that one felt like it just took away almost everything other than hunting the monster and I don't like that. Hell, even hunting isn't necessary, you just rush to their icon on the map without bothering.

What exactly did World add that was so horrible to the community? And let's try to remember that G-rank is often not present in the base version of MH games so we can't count that against World.

Yep. Thankfully Rise went back to the original way of doing the missions, and is the only real negative I have for World.

TBH, I prefer World for having one quest line and not separate online and solo, but Rise's workaround of having you do an "exam" in order to raise your online HR is serviceable as well.

Just please, never go back to the days of having to grind both solo and online quests, Capcom.

As someone who has played tons of Pokemon Go, its not really satisfying, its addictive and exploitive to get you to try to waste your time and some money. Its fun for a while but it really doesnt feel like you got better at the game. The competitive aspect is literally catching dozens of the same pokemon (assuming you even have access to catching that 'mon) who have certain statistics bottomed out while others maxed and that still requires you to know this for dozens of individual pokemon.

And yet there's still no Digimon Go, the franchise that would make the most sense with this concept.

Hell, Digimon Go would make enough sense that it could even be canon
