People shouldn't get a free pass just because you agree with their views on one area. It's entirely possible to support someone's stance on A while still being critical of them on their views on B. Life isn't black and white.

Probably. I wonder how much the neopronoun movement hurts trans acceptance. They aren't the same thing (in my view) but they often get lumped together. Seems like most people don't have a problem referring to people as he/she/they/them but when you throw in non-binary deerkin and birthing-person people start pushing back and rational trans people are put in the crossfire.

I think people are just getting trans-fatigue at this point. The movement and the issues (on both sides) are everywhere all the time. There's only so much one person can take in nowadays before just being like "okay, I'm good. That's enough for today."
