Look after a very rocky start I've come love these little kitties I'm watching. They're sweet, and they have so much personality. Not to mention how cuddly they are. Oh god and the cute little noises they make <3.

On the other end of it, those little needles jutting out of their paws are enough to make me wary of them. Trimming is difficult to impossible atm, and those scratching posts can only do so much. When I've tried bringing up the cats scratching me (and drawing blood a few times) while trying to get my attention or play with me I get the reaction of "aww they're just playing with you. it means they like you"

same reaction when I mentioned they clawed up one of my chairs

it's not cute

I trim my cat's nails weekly, they get used to it eventually.

The key to claw trimming is to gently play with their paws when you are playing/chilling out. You get them used to having their paws touched. That way they don't have reservations for when handle their paws for trimming. Basically if the only time you are touching their paws is to trim them they'll be wary about the entire process.

Also you have to do it when they are in the right mood. If they are particularly active or playful it's not gonna work because they won't want to be still or held. You gotta get them when they are sleepy or lounging.
